What Makes Good Web-Based Training?
In order for web training to work for everyone, it must have certain key elements. Some of those elements, such as interesting, targeted, and engaging video presentations were missing from the first generation of web-based training. Because of this, most early attempts at web-based training failed. However, you no longer have to sacrifice quality, effectiveness, or administration capabilities to get the tremendous benefits of web-based training.
Why bother with web training if it's no better than reading a workbook. First generation web training was, for the most part, "read-the-screens", page turners, or tiny video clips at best. The instruction didn't hold the learner's interest and it didn't accomplish its intended mission—knowledge transfer.
